INVENTORY CONTROL A manufacturing company was saved $32,000 a month. The company was spending money on new software licenses they didn’t need. Every time an employee left the company, they bought new software licenses, even when the new employee was often using the same software. I introduced some changes in inventory control and that money was saved.
MATERIALS & WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT A utility company’s crews averaged 90 minutes every day to load their trucks. I reviewed inventory usage and organized the warehouse and materials yard to match that usage. This reduced the average loading time from an hour and a half to 15 minutes and increased their time on the job site, significantly reducing the cost of overtime.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT A Fortune 500 company wanted to improve how their assets were managed. I reviewed their processes and found that asset serial numbers were being entered into three databases and two paper documents. Each time a serial number was entered was an opportunity for error. I changed the process, increased accuracy by reducing the entries and reduced the workload.
